Santana Moss ran back a punt and Reggie Tongue returned a pick to the house and the Jets were tied 17-17 late in the 4th quarter. With a couple minutes remaining, Doug Brien's 47-yard FG attempt hit the crossbar. But Ben Roethlisberger threw a pick on the next play, setting up the Jets in great field position. With the ball at the 24-yard line and one timeout left, the Jets did the sensible thing: they had Chad Pennington take a knee. Wait, what???? Yup, he took a knee, making it a 43-yard try for the win. You probably don't need to be told this, but Brien shanked it left. Two missed field goals from basically the same spot on the field within two minutes of each other.";

It was a playoff win on the road that only a Jets fan could be angry at. The Jets backed into the playoffs and had a date with the Chargers on a rainy Saturday night in San Diego. Despite Pennington playing with a torn rotator cuff and head coach Herm Edwards starting a fight with running backs coach Bishop Harris (seriously), the Jets led 17-10 in the final seconds. On 4th and goal, Chargers QB Drew Brees threw an incomplete pass. But linebacker Eric Barton (shades of Gastineau in '86!) inexplicably elbowed Brees in the head well after the play. Naturally, the Chargers tied the game after the roughing the passer penalty. In overtime, the Chargers were in field-goal range but neglected to rely exclusively on LaDainian Tomlinson (thank you, Marty Schottenheimer). Nate Kaeding pushed a 40-yard field goal wide right. Doug Brien eventually won the game on a chip-shot FG.";

The Jets improved to 6-1 with the win. Take a guess if they made the playoffs or not.";
