Williams has passed John Wooden for career victories in the Big Dance (49) and has led the Heels to a title in 2005 and three Elite Eight appearances in five seasons at his alma mater. That kind of success is typical for Williams, who's one of the most successful men's coaches in college basketball history.
But all that success carries big expectations for Williams, who, despite all that success, has dealt with criticism for his lack of consistent NCAA success. He won more than 400 games and reached four Final Fours in 15 seasons at Kansas, but didn't dog the stigma of never winning a title until 2005.
