Lightsaber
There are a lot of “Star Wars” games out there, some much better than others, and we’ll play them all as long as we get to use a lightsaber. There’s something so cool about the way it slices and dices through enemies. And face it, in the “Star Wars” universe you’re nothing but Bantha fodder without one.
We can’t wait until next year, when “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed” comes out for the Nintendo Wii. Finally – using the Wii’s motion-sensitive controller – we’ll be able to truly swing a lightsaber ourselves. That will have to do until we figure out how to make a real one. ";

Blades of Chaos
If you’re planning on killing a bunch of Greek gods you better have two things: nerves of steel and one serious weapon. Thankfully for Kratos, he has both.
The central character in Sony’s “God of War” series wields the Blades of Chaos: two short swords attached to his arms by a length of chain. While he can perform traditional hand-to-hand combat with the weapon, it’s his other method of attack we’re most fond of. Kratos can swing the Blades of Chaos around, making the weapon a giant yo-yo of death. ";

Heavenly Sword
It’s pretty safe to say the Heavenly Sword (from Sony’s game of the same name) has a strong family resemblance to “God of War’s” Blades of Chaos, but dismissing it as a cheap clone would be just plain wrong.
The Heavenly Sword stands alone because it’s really three deadly weapons in one. It can be either a giant sword for powerful attacks, or transform into two shorter blades for quick strikes. Or if you want to attack foes from a distance, you can swing the big blade around using chains that magically appear from the handle. The choice is up to you, but no matter which you pick, you’re going to serve up some serious pain.";

Master Sword
No list of great video game swords would be complete without mentioning the Master Sword from Nintendo’s “Legend of Zelda” series. The weapon that repels evil is an icon of the franchise. For many gamers, the image of Link and his Master Sword simply cannot be separated.
Even when Link appears in non-Zelda games like the “Super Smash Bros.” series, the Master Sword is the weapon he brings along.
